New Hotel For Downtown Goodyear

New AC Hotel by Marriott to Transform Goodyear’s Downtown GSQ

Goodyear’s downtown is undergoing a transformation, and the announcement of a new AC Hotel by Marriott is a significant milestone in this exciting journey. The hotel will be located within the city’s GSQ (Goodyear’s Square) mixed-use development, adding a touch of modern luxury to an already thriving area. Slated to open by the end of 2026, this project is more than just a hotel—it’s a catalyst for economic growth and community revitalization.

Key Features of the New AC Hotel

The four-story hotel will feature 135 rooms designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Guests will enjoy a range of modern amenities, including a stylish lounge, a bar, on-site dining options, and an outdoor pool. Additionally, the hotel will offer a 1,200-square-foot meeting space, providing a versatile venue for conferences, events, and community gatherings.

Baywood Hotels, the developer behind the project, acquired the 1.5-acre site in December 2024 for $2.7 million. According to BJ Patel, Senior Vice President of Baywood Hotels, Goodyear’s vibrant growth and welcoming community were major factors in selecting this location. “Our goal is to create a destination that enhances local hospitality, fosters job opportunities, and contributes to the city’s thriving economy,” said Patel.

GSQ Development: A Hub for Growth

The AC Hotel is just one piece of the puzzle in the larger GSQ development, which spans 150 acres. GSQ is rapidly evolving into a dynamic urban hub with a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. The first phase, known as Civic Square, includes Goodyear’s new City Hall, a public library, office buildings, and restaurants like The Stillery and Copper & Sage.

Adjacent to the hotel, visitors will find a new parking garage, a 2-acre park, and the upcoming Banner Health medical office building. GSQ’s east side is also set to feature two new restaurants and a specialty grocery store, making it a magnet for residents and visitors alike.

Economic and Community Impact

The hotel’s construction is expected to generate 30 new jobs, further supporting the city’s economic growth. It also aligns with Goodyear’s vision to attract high-quality developments that enrich the community.

George Getz, Co-CEO of Globe Corp., one of the key developers of GSQ, emphasized the importance of the project’s curated mix of businesses. “What is making GSQ successful is the lineup of one-of-a-kind businesses that we are working carefully to attract,” Getz said. This intentional approach ensures that GSQ will be more than just another development—it will be a destination.

A Bright Future for Goodyear

As Goodyear continues to grow, the addition of the AC Hotel by Marriott reinforces its status as a premier location for both investors and residents. The GSQ development is setting the stage for a vibrant, interconnected community where people can live, work, and play.

For real estate investors and property managers, the area’s ongoing transformation offers immense potential. With developments like this, Goodyear’s real estate market is poised for continued growth, making it a hotspot for those looking to capitalize on Arizona’s booming economy.
